In the last few years special educators and "regular ed" teachers have become aware of the growing number of autistic students in their programs. Within that group are students identified as "Asperger Syndrome" or high functioning autistics. They are a complicated group!

As the parent of an LD youngster identified as AS during his Junior High years, I am very eager to share my experiences with educators, future educators and school administrators regarding just what is Asperger Syndrome. My son and I enjoy sharing our "side of the story" We would like everyone to understand how to identify these students and how to deal with them and their parents in and out of the classroom.
